important note

This is the official listing of distributed.net clients. They have been tested to be functioning correctly. The binaries listed here are the ONLY ones you should be using. Trojan horses and other perverted versions have been known to have been circulated. Please do not make attempts to mirror or redistribute the client binaries, either via your own web/ftp server or other means. If you wish to provide a convenient method for your visitors to download clients, please provide a link to it on our FTP site or (preferably) to this page. distributed.net has set policies & terms regarding the use of these clients. Please read them. Downloading and installing the client on any machine implies understanding and agreement with these terms.

attention

OGRp2 and RC5-72 are now actively running! Clients with version v2.9008 or higher support both OGRp2 and RC5-72. For questions about RC5-72, please be sure to check the frequently asked RC5-72 questions for your answer first. Additional questions may be sent to help@distributed.net or our email support form.

If you are upgrading from an older v2.8 client, please be sure to flush any existing buffers with your old v2.8 client before upgrading to the new v2.9 clients, as the buffer formats have changed.

Backwards compatibility notes

  • OGRp2 and proxyper (May 15, 2004)
For OGRp2 support you must be running build 341 of the proxyper. Also note that build 341 can only communicate to an upstrem server that is also build 341 or higher, regardless of project.
  • RC5-72 and proxyper (Dec 3, 2002)
For RC5-72 support you must be running build 330 of the proxyper or higher.
  • v2.9008.490 (May 15, 2004)
This is the lowest client build number that OGRp2 results will be accepted from.
  • v2.9001.477 (Dec 3, 2002)
This is the lowest client build number that RC5-72 results will be accepted from. Version v2.9 also introduces a new client buffer format that is incompatible with earlier versions of the client.
